Our Mandate:

A Commitment to Equality.

Guided by the South African Constitution and the South African Library for the Blind Act 91 of 1998, our mandate is clear: to provide a free, accessible library and information service for blind and print-handicapped South Africans. We are committed to:

Building a diverse and comprehensive collection of South African and international documents.
Producing high-quality Braille and audio materials.
Developing and researching cutting-edge production methods and technologies.
Acquiring and disseminating assistive technologies.
Expanding our services to reach all print-handicapped individuals.
Maintaining strong relationships with our readers, partners, and funders.
